Morihei Ushiba (1883-1969)

Aikido was originated in Japan by Morihei Ueshiba around1925 after many years of research, practice and development. Aikido is unique among the martial arts because, as suggested by its name which means "the way of spirit harmony", it never resists or clashes but brings the opponent under control by blending with their oncoming force.
